What Students are Saying...
PMT provides two parts that are often missing from massage therapy programs: a comprehensive systematic postural assessment approach and a systematic approach to therapeutic movement. The first element helps you to understand what's happening habitually in your client's body; the second gives you additional tools to address those postural issues. Practical Movement encourages healthy movement patterns to replace faulty ones. It's a tremendously well thought out program! -Joel Klein, NCBTMB
Deb's style of delivering education is easy-going, straight forward and easy to understand for all. Information received is immediately applicable to one's existing practice. Her manuals are an invaluable source of reference! -Deidra Sivertson LMT, RYT
I have taken 24 years of CEUs for Massage Therapy. Finally Deb Kimmet is offering a seminar that gives me an ongoing movement practice for myself and clients' healing and balancing. —Paula Byrd Parcheta, LMT, NMT
The manual alone is worth the tuition. The seminars are designed so you can take a few movements that are most common or you can utilitze the extremely thorough manual for unlimited options. —Shauna Dutton, Profesional Drug-free Bodybuilder, Certified Personal Trainer, Nationallly Certified Masage Therapist, Owner of Health Habits
If you want the tools to help your clients change their chronic pain patterns, take these classes. Your effectiveness as a practitioner will be greatly enhanced. PMT Seminars' trainings are comparable to and the manuals far surpass any other nationally-based trainings I've taken in my 20 years of massage practice. —Debra Shorrock, NCTMB
About the Targeted Movement for Massage Therapy Seminar
The practical movements that I learned from Deborah Kimmet are so basic, yet effective. Attending this seminar and participating in her activating/balancing movements made me a believer – the changes in the body are that profound. These techniques are easy to incorporate into your massage practice and teach your clients. Practical Movement is the win-win technique I was looking for to help my clients. —Maureen (Mo) Lewandowski RN, CMT South Haven, Michigan
I just wanted to share that I've been doing some of the movements that you taught us in class and for the first time in over a year, I have no pain in my right SI joint. Thanks! —Heidi Fidler, B.S., CMT Kalamazoo, MI
The Targeted Movement class was great. It really helped improve upon my assessment skills and palpation skills and gave excellent directions to follow in the well detailed manual. A great addition for any therapist to add to his/her "tool box". —Tracy Carter, Nationally Certified Massage Therapist
I attended the seminar in Kalamazoo last week-end. I wanted to say thank-you, I came away feeling I had great tools to help my clients and myself. I have had chronic pain under my left shoulder blade in which I came home pain-free. That was even after driving 5 hrs in terrible storm conditions. Great class! —Edna Raymer, NCTMB
This course included much useful information which can readily be incorporated into an existing practice. The material is presented with clear direction for practical application. The manual provides a valuable resource for ongoing study and accurate guidelines for appropriate practice of the movements presented. —Arlene May Stoddard, MA, LMP
Deborah presents her expert material in a clear, concise manner. The information can be taken back to the office and used immediately. The class pace is upbeat and experiential. There are sufficient breaks to keep the attention span. —Linda M. Simpson
[In an email three months after the seminar] I have been getting excellent feedback from my clients on the work...releasing tension in the low back has been a key one. They all like that it is not difficult to do, but it does make them concentrate or "be in the moment" while they are doing the movements instead of just "going through the motions" of their "normal" stretching or exercise routines. It is pretty easy to incorporate into the massage session too. Thank you for a great class and an awesome learning experience. —Mary Knight, CMT, Ithaca, MI

I have been doing structural bodywork (mainly neuromuscular therapy) for over 10 years. ...I was extremely impressed with not only the amount of information that was presented but even more so the accuracy and detail of the information. I feel that my knowledge and skill set has increased dramatically from this class and I would highly recommend it to any serious Bodyworker, Movement Therapist, or Physical Therapist that wants to exponentially increase their ability to help people decrease and eliminate their pain. —Robert Barker, CMT, CNMT

About the Core Seminar
I wanted you to know that I had a client today (the day after the Core Seminar) with some back stuff going on. She saw her chiropractor and didn't get much relief. Her erectors, QL, gluteus medius were really tight but I also noticed her SI joint didn't feel right. It felt high so I did one of the movements that you taught us to help open the muscles over the SI joints and it was amazing!!! Her erectors and glutes felt like butter after doing that and QL responded quickly to my work. Thank you so much! -Diane Evans, NCMT
I have recognized the need for movement therapy since I became a bodyworker. I was led to study Neuromuscular therapy and have begun to have results in pain relief and pain management work, but the movement piece to actually help clients re-educate postural distortions was missing. PMT has completely met this need. The training offers both the theory and practical knowledge necessary to confidently create movement protocols and effectively helps people get out of pain. I am both impressed and grateful. I highly recommend this course to anyone who is really serious about bodywork and pain management. -Debra Kay Barbarick
The Core Practical Movement Therapy Seminar was an eye opening experience to say the least. For me, a whole new way of looking at how to bring balance to the body, the perfect complement to MT and to empower my clients with making lasting changes in their bodies and lives. Deborah was professional, informative, engaging and a skilled teacher. She inately knew when to explain a topic further OR when to take a break. She had endless ways of explaining concepts so that all understood.... but conversely knew when to move on and not dwell on a topic too long. I was impressed by her level of focus but also her willingness to explore where the class took her. It's nice to learn from someone whose ego is not being served - it was truly a shared learning environment! —Wendy Brown, NCMT
About the Upper Extremities Seminar

I am convinced movement is essential for truly effective soft tissue and body work and the results my clients receive are proof of this. Deb's efforts to provide us with concise, comprehensive teaching materials are way beyond what I've received in any training program I've been in. Our study manual is gold! It's a really good deal. -Debra Kay Barbarick, CMT
